It was founded in October 1989, and its predecessor was the "Preservation Group of Han Stone Carvings in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province" established in 1956. After expansion in 2007, it formed a pattern of two museums in the north and south. The site covers a total area of 20000 square meters, with a building area of 8200 square meters. The north hall is a Han-Tang style structure, with the main hall as the central axis, divided into three groups of courtyards and connected by corridors; The South Pavilion is a modern building.

Xuzhou Han Dynasty Stone Art Museum has many precious stone relics. Xuzhou Han Dynasty Stone Art Museum is basically displayed as "Han Dynasty - Epic on Stone" in the South Hall, displaying more than 400 pieces of stone carvings; The "Han Stone Relics" is displayed in the North Hall, with more than 160 pieces of fine stone reliefs excavated and discovered between the end of the Qing Dynasty and 1989, which are respectively displayed in seven exhibition rooms and on the 206-meter gallery. The display of the South and North pavilions comprehensively and stereoscopically reflects the achievements of the Xuzhou Han Dynasty Stone Art Museum in cultural relics collection, scientific research and display art, so that the audience can have a more comprehensive understanding of Xuzhou Han Dynasty Stone Art Museum and the life of Xuzhou people in the Han Dynasty.
On August 29, 2015, the Chengdali Art Museum was set up in the south of  the Xuzhou Han Dynasty Stone Art Museum, which exhibited more than 40 masterpieces of Mr. Chengdali, a famous Chinese calligrapher and painter. It fully shows the outstanding artistic achievements of Mr. Cheng Dali, the leader of the "Pengcheng Painting School".

Xuzhou Han Dynasty Stone Art Museum is located at No. 5, Hudong Road, Quanshan District, Xuzhou City. It is open from 9:00 to 17:00 every Tuesday to Sunday (admission is closed at 16:00) and closed every Monday (except for legal holidays).
