The meeting was hosted by Zong Shizhen, deputy curator of Xuzhou Museum.

The experts listened to the exhibition plan report of the curator team, and had a full discussion. They agreed that the exhibition content was prominent in theme and reasonable in structure, which better expressed the cultural connotation and artistic value of the painted terracotta figurines in Beidong Mountain; The exhibition form is novel and unique, which can better explain the exhibition theme; The budget is reasonable and feasible. The scheme meets the overall requirements of the 2022 Jiangsu Provincial Museum Fine Exhibition Project of the Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics. Suggestions were put forward to further optimize the exhibition title, adjust the color of the exhibition hall, and add background information and auxiliary exhibits related to the archaeology of Beidongshan.

Xuzhou Han King of Chu Tombs is one of the 100 major archaeological discoveries in China in the 20th century, and Beidongshan King of Chu Tombs is an important part of it. The tomb of the King of Chu in Beidongshan is a large horizontal cave type cliff cave tomb with unique shape and complex structure, reflecting the superb technology of the architecture of the Han Dynasty. Although the tomb was disturbed by theft, it still unearthed a large number of precious cultural relics, among which the pottery figurines are the most wonderful part, and also one of the most beautiful business cards of the material and cultural relics of the Han Dynasty in Xuzhou. The pottery figurines buried in the tomb of the King of Chu at Beidongshan include the following types: the ceremonial and guard figurines, the musical and dance figurines, the servant figurines and the factotum figurines. These pottery figurines are colorful, vivid and sophisticated, and extremely realistic, reflecting the highest achievements in the production of the Western Han Dynasty pottery figurines. There are no similarities in the eyebrows, whiskers, facial expressions, and clothing patterns. The painted terracotta figurines in Beidongshan have distinctive time marks and regional characteristics, reflecting all aspects of the court life of the King of Chu at that time, and are an important carrier of social style, aesthetic form and even ideological consciousness at that time, as well as an important material material for studying the history of the Han Dynasty. The exhibition is located in the Deng Yongqing Collection on the first floor of the main building of Xuzhou Museum, and is expected to meet with the public and audience on the eve of the Spring Festival.
