About the lecturer: 


      Chen Zhao, male, born in Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province in 1968, Han nationality. He graduated from Nanjing Normal University with a major in Chinese Language and Literature in 1990. He is currently working as a librarian in Xuzhou Museum and deputy research librarian of Wenbo.

      Mr. Chen has a wealth of books, and has edited and participated in the compilation of more than ten books. He published papers and cultural science columns in newspapers and magazines such as Southeastern Culture, Xinhua Daily, and Taiwan's Daguan Magazine. He was committed to cultural and public welfare undertakings, and has been interviewed by a number of media, including Shandong TV Station and Xuzhou TV Station. He has given lectures at provincial academic conferences for many times and conducted many public welfare lectures in the city. He was awarded the advanced individual in the third national cultural relic census in Jiangsu province in 2012, and the first advanced collective,  provincial advanced individual and provincial "census star" in the national movable cultural relic census in 2016.

     Lecture content:

    Weapons are tools for safeguarding the survival interests of human beings. Along with the entire course of the war, they represent an advanced level of productivity. Xuzhou has been a battleground for soldiers since ancient times, and a large number of weapons have    been unearthed.

    This lecture focuses on the exhibition line of the Jinger Iron Horsein the Xuzhou Museum, focusing on cultural relics unearthed in Xuzhou, and tells the history of ancient Chinese weapons from the prehistoric period to the end of the Qing Dynasty.This explanation not only involves swords, arrows, chariots, Ge, spears, halberds, crossbows of the Han Dynasty, ring swords, hook inlays, steelmaking, cavalry, iron armor, heavy cavalry, hook sickle, chain mail, iron tribulus , Porcelain Tribulus and other rich knowledge of cold weapons, also talk about the types and applications of firearms.

    Gunpowder is used in the military field and is the most important innovation in the history of war. The age of combined use of firearms and cold weapons should be from the Northern Song Dynasty to the middle of the Qing Dynasty, which lasted about 9 centuries.

    By the Ming Dynasty, muskets had begun to enter a formal battle sequence, and the quality of firearms had also been greatly improved compared to the past. Those who have made a reservation can enter the museum in advance through the green channel before the event starts. For children to register, they must fill in their ID card numbers (see the hukou book) and the guardian's phone number, and they will be accompanied by the guardian on the day. Music appreciation: In order to maintain a good environment for concerts, children over 1.2 meters or over 6 years old can enter. Elderly people over the age of 70 do not need to make an appointment, and participate in Wenbo Forum lectures and concerts with their senior citizens' certificates.
