In cold winter, nothing is more healing than eating hot pot.

In ancient times, hot pot has been very popular. As early as the Shang and Zhou dynasty, people made the prototype of modern hot pot, such as a cooking vessel in West Zhou dynasty, which can be heated with charcoal fire. To Han dynasty, the type of hot pot becomes much more. For example, in West Han Haihunhou tomb,a copper hot pot was unearthed a few years ago, which was more ingenious in design and had a special small hole to remove the burnt charcoal fire. Yuanyang pot also appeared in the Han dynasty. A rare bronze tripod was found in Dayunshan tomb of Han dynasty. The tripod is divided into five areas by the partition, known as the five - lattice tripod. By the time of the Three Kingdoms period, there were also records in the Annals of The Three Kingdoms that Cao pi had given his minister a five-lattice pot. The square pot now stored in the Palace Museum was also a delicate and small five-lattice hotpot.

So, what are the hot pot food that ancient people loved to eat? Is there any dipping seasoning when eating hot pot? The hot pot that we are familiar with today comes from which dynasty? Did you know that Emperor Qianlong was a real hot pot lover? In this course, the instructor will guide you to explore the food history.
